I have windows 8, and i don't know what happened to mess this up but this problem started a couple days ago. I can no longer click right into outlook, it's almost like the screen is frozen. The only way for me to get into outlook is to use the aero preview window, click that window then i can use outlook. However, once I'm in outlook I can't click anywhere else on the screen except in outlook, The only way for me to get out of it is if i minimize the program, this also happens in Picasa, Teamviewer and i'm sure a couple other programs that i have yet to discover. When I start up Toshiba Satellite L855-S5309 I get Media Failed No Bootable drive. I went into Bios and see that HDD/SSD says none. I took the hard drive out and installed it in my hard drive enclosure and could not find the drive on my other computer . I installed another hard drive in enclosure and it came up immediately . I reinstalled failed hard drive again and still nothing. I did a run cmd and Typed "chkdsk x: /f /r" and press "Enter," substituting "x" with the letter of the USB drive and got a cant access files . I bought a Gateway desktop running Windows 8. When i attempt to download the the free update to windows 8.1 the computer will re-start and hang at the gateway start-up screen. I went to watch a film online when my pc informed me that files required updating. All of them to do with playing films. Silverlight, Adobe summat!?!, and others so I tried to update them all one by one. Then was told that msvcr90.dll was reuiring re-installation. I searched it in Google. Found what was said to be free! Was apparently Microsoft approved! So clicked it. It was REGcure. Once it had finished finding 13,000 errors it showed I could then buy this marvellous piece of software! So much for free! Can anyone help? I can't find anything that says it's what I need here! Hi guys, i have seen dozens of posts about this on various forums however i believe that i have an answer that may not be listed. If your keyboard is working in bios but not during or after windows login here's what i did to fix it... Forget about all the rubbish about USB failures, uninstalling the keyboard driver and the like...the solution is far simpler. I am planning on upgrading my motherboard, cpu and ram. I am using windows 7 home premium which i upgraded from xp using a retail upgrade disc which i bought from a national computer supplies company. I am using window 8 with "Bit Defender" Internet security for the last year and today antivirus's license has expired. Window has already its own component named "Window Defender" for virus protection. But i am not sure if it provides the full protection to a PC against internet viruses and spywares. I noticed my firewall needed updating and i wasnt using the recommended settings when I clicked on the "use recommended settings" button it comes up with "Windows Firewall can't change some of your settings. Seems like alot of people have this problem. It's been happening to me I think for the last month or so. I'm using a pretty old and shaky Win XP Home. I am taking packet data and using libpcap pcap inject method to pass the packet onto another network. This works fine but the mac address in the packet changes to that of the local device been used to relay the packet. Tracing through the libpcap code the inject method calls the standard send() socket method, but from there I loose track of the calls which are updating the mac address. Where in the Linux code is the send() method? and does anybody know what I would need to do to prevent the mac address been over written in the packet. Thanks in advance Continue reading...
