When I did a repair install I got many copy errors but I did another one with a freshly burned disc and this time only got one error to copy ICWCONN1.EX_ or ICWCONN2.EX_, one of the two. I have many components missing so I try to install via appwiz.cpl to install accessories and utilities which are missing but it keeps reporting file copy errors of various, random files on the CD. I am trying to pair the Microsoft Wedge Touch Mouse with a Surface RT running Windows 8. It takes a very long time to show up in the list of devices to pair. On the rare times it does show up and I hit pair, I get the message: "This didn't work. Try again and make sure your device is still discoverable." I've been on hold with Microsoft tech support for half an hour and I'm still listening to crappy music. Does anyone have any advice for me on how to fix this myself? Thanks in advance! When I was downloading windows 8.1 , i thought i had already plugged my charger into my computer . I leave my laptop and come back after a while . It was dead . I plug the charger into my computer and go straight to the store . I click " upgrade to windows 8.1 " . I am having an issue with Windows 8 machines losing connection to Canon Printers. Everything is being run through our server and the issue is only affecting windows 8 and 8.1 machines. They lose connection to the printer (through the server) but the connection to the server is still good. In order to resolve the issue the printer has to be removed from the windows 8 unit, the windows 8 unit restarted and then reinstall the printer from the server. This has been a continual process and is quite a hassle to keep having to do. I was wondering if anyone has any in information on a fix. It would be a great relief. I've just purchaced a new laptop and promply proceeded to break the boot loader. I'd like to reinstall windows 8 but I need an iso file to do this. I also have the product key stored in the BIOS but I can't access this unless I am in the Windows 8 setup - which I first need an iso for. After every Windows update, when I try to log onto the internet using IE10, I cannot connect to any site. Instead, I receive a "Waiting for" message that lasts as long as the browser is open. I am using Windows 8. I tried rebooting, disabling and re-enabling the network adapter, and uninstalling the updates which provides temporary relief. However, after a brief period in which I am able to connect to the internet, the problem returns. Troubleshooters and anti-virus software report no problems. I set up a new User Account with Admin Authority. Originally, I have 2. The new account gives me the message "Your Internet Security Setting prevented one or more files from being opened" when I try and run an application. More Weirdness. I reset IE11 with NO LUCK. I tried running C:\Windows\explorer.exe under RUN with NO LUCK. Weird, Under Run I CLICKED BROWSE and sure enough Windows Explorer opened. From this I SHOULD be able to execute any programs. We have a requirement to migrate out or users to domainB (user domain). We are admins over both. I searched for cheats on game named "Rust" on youtube. I downloaded it and just run that file. THEN MY COMPUTER GOT BLUESCREEN :(. I think it was "PROCESS_KILLED". Hi, Having issues with the latest release of MSE and the real-time protection engine. When attempting to connect to a VPN network, the connect to network box hangs and takes about 30 seconds to show up (also indicates that the program "connect to a network" is not responding in task manager). It also takes 1minute+ to then connect to the network. During this process MsMpEng.exe has high cpu usage which is obviously causing this slowdown. When I disable real-time protection in MSE (or uninstall) I don't have any hangs or slowdowns. Is there a process or file I can add to the mse exclusions list to avoid these issues? Thanks.
