Good day everyone. My name is Jon, i'm 30 years old, and have been working with or playing around with computers since I was 9 (commodore 64). I have many years of call center support (yea I now that's not real tech) but I have been quickly promoted to top tier support at multiple support companies. I look forward to learning more about my Windows Server 2008 and various other systems. Jon

plz how can i set 2 ips using one nic i went to advanced type the second ip and the mask but didnt work for me.... have i do something else ? must the second ip is in the same range? set something with the router or disable something like dhcp or disconnect one pc from the router and connect it through the switch? help plzzzzzz..... thx

I'm a new user to this forum. I just wanted to say hello. I'm trying to find the best way to move to a Windows 2008 domain. Is it best to migrate to 2008 from 2003 or just create a whole new domain from scratch? If you have any ideas I would appreciate a reply. TxNupe

Hello everybody that's on this forum. My name is Jonathan Burgerhout and i come from The Netherlands. At this moment i'm working on a new network for a company that is just starting. What i like to do is trying fix my own problems and help others with theirs :geek: . So if you have any ptoblems i would gladly take a look at it and try to help you out in almost any way possible. At home i have a HP Pro Liant server with some basic stuff on it like: AD, DNS, File server, IIS and a mail server with Hmailserver. At this moment i'm trying to make my Hmailserver work on the internet and not only in my own network and i'm also the only one that's doing IT related work…

I'm a student and managed to get copy of Server Standard from my university for free (through the MSDNAA). I had been running server running fedora 12 but I thought it would be good to become familiar with windows server as well.

Hover with your mouse over your User Name. In the drop down menu, select Signature. In the signature window that opens, type your signature. Add the Center tags to center your signature as shown below. Select Save Changes and your signature will appear at the bottom of every post.

Running websites for a few years now, I've always relied on the benefits of shared hosting, but eventually one of my apps just got to big so I made the leap to my own (rented) Windows Server 2008 from which to run my site. It's a new world, but so far so good. I'm more of a programmer than a sysadmin/techie so I have a lot to learn. Hopefully this site will be useful to me and perhaps my own experiences may be useful to others.

Greetings Everyone, I am joining due to my hardware background is now being utilized as an IT admin for my son's school. I have no windows server experience what so ever. I am going to try to crash course this as this summer I will have to deploy a new server! YELP! Currently I am in charge (using the term loosely, I more just watch) 1 Windows Server 2003 Ent - (Domain, DNS, SQL, Roaming Profiles, Etc) 60ish Systems 90 Users If anyone could point me in the right direction to start learning WS2008R2 I would greatly appreciate it! I apologize in advance for all my dumb questions!

My name is Pierre and I love to program and work with computers. I do that as a hobby but I am a reference person for most of my friends and for many of my friends' friends. I was brought here as a result of a search on AltaVista (hey yes) about a problem I have on an old computer still with ME and which never boots on the first time. The friend of mine who owns it discovered that the only way to have it boot was to shut down the main power switch at the rear of the box, put it on and retry the front ON button. Most of the time she succeeded after doing this routine a few times. Today, it is worst. I brought the computer to my place and never succeeded…

Hello everyone. My name is Maurice. I Like to introduce myself and tell you why im here. [ATTACH]40.IPB[/ATTACH] I use to have a Website name www.Tox-Interactive.com On this site I posted work of my 3ds Max skill and some more random stuff. After some issues with the host I decided to get my own Server. Im using a AMD64 3800+ with 2 gig of memory for it. Im here becouse I'm very new to this Server 2008 and can use all the help I can get. I hope you can help me out to get everything running like its suppost to do. Greetings.
