My name is Bob Schwarz. I am a beta tester for Microsoft operating systems. I've been testing Windows since Windows 98. I hope to use this commmunity to share knowledge with other Windows 8 users once it goes into beta. I also own a network of tech related sites. Windows 8 Forum is the newest addition to the network.

Yep, it was far cheaper to get an HP laptop with the Adobe CS4 suite via an educational package than to get a new Mac laptop so I did. 18 year Mac veteran (I'm an art director) but now also using Vista. So far, I love it. Best advice I've had... disable auto-updates from Microsoft.. Vista for Dummies is awesome (as is AskWoody.com, the author) I've had zero problems. Best thing about Vista (working in Windows) for me so far? The free apps like FileZilla that work 100% perfectly and provide what I need instead of having to buy numerous small apps. Hello everyone

As my work is somewhat related to Intel AMT and manageability, issues found in these drivers interest me very much. Hi, sometimes I waste a lot of time trying to solve a problem myself, sometimes I get lucky and figure it out. Once in a while I use help and actually find the answer I'm looking for. and when I'm feeling really dumb I call MSN tech support and waste an hour listening to a well meaning person read of a script that turns out to be all the things I've already tried anyway. i am trying to fix my sound on my comp. i currently have sound blaster pci 128, and it is a onboard sound card. well unfortunately it isnt working properly. i show the device in the device manager as installed and working fine but when i go to play music or any computer sounds it says the device is enabled but isnt started. i also noticed i do not have a plug and play enumerator device on my computer. I have win xp home edition. please help me i have been without sound for 3 weeks.
